Our story
Who GDL Steel is
GDL Steel Erectors LLC was formed in Colorado in 2021 and is licensed and insured. We erect pre-engineered steel buildings on commercial and residential jobs, about half of each, working as a subcontractor to general contractors.
The crew is led by a steel erector who has been in the trade since age 17 and now runs his own crew.
We’re based in Colorado Springs and work across the Front Range, and the crew travels for larger jobs. Recent commercial jobs have also taken the crew to Utah, Nebraska and Nevada, and residential shops to Montana and Wyoming.

- Colorado Springs, Colorado. Home base, with jobs across the Front Range.
- Littleton, Colorado. White steel buildings on an equipment yard.
- Glade Park, Colorado. A steel building with a covered porch and two open bays.
- Delta, Utah. A two-tone commercial steel building with clerestory windows.
- Pahrump, Nevada. A large pre-engineered building frame.
- Mullen, Nebraska. Lodge-style steel buildings with standing-seam roofs.
- Byers, Golden and Westcliffe, Colorado. Residential steel shops.
- Hotchkiss and Longmont, Colorado. A steel barn with lean-to sheds, and an equipment shed.
- Townsend, Montana. A large steel shop with a covered porch.
- Eastern Wyoming. A three-bay steel shop on open prairie.
